Bill owns D & S Life Agency, Inc., once a subsidiary of Davis & Stephenson, Inc. a Roanoke Virginia property and casualty firm originally founded in 1904.

D & S Life Agency, Inc., chartered August 27, 1964, initially provided individual and corporate financial planning to the Davis and Stephenson clientele, but in 1982 changed its emphasis to employee benefits. The five person staff of D & S has a client base of approximately 200 corporations in Virginia, North Carolina and West Virginia.

Service to the employees of these corporations, design and compliance of corporate plans and emphasis on communication separate D & S from other advisory firms.

In 2005, D & S was asked to partner with United Benefit Advisors, an alliance of independent benefit firms throughout the U.S. The sharing of best practices, technology and information between over 135 national benefit advisory firms complimented the respect Bill has earned in nearly 30 years of service to the employee benefit industry.
