Willam L Kite, Jr.
Bill, owner of D & S Agency, entered the insurance business June 1, 1976 after graduating with a B.A. in English from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. He holds resident licenses in life, health and consulting and non-resident licenses in other states.
His first group client was The City of Manassas Schools September 1, 1976. Later he worked as the Roanoke group benefit manager for The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S. responsible for insurance plans in Virginia and West Virginia including United Mine Worker approved benefit plans.
Giving back to the community he serves through various nonprofit organizations has been a major focal point for Bill. He also served eight years on the Society of Alumni Board at his alma mater.
Bill is an active partner with United Benefit Advisors (UBA) where the sharing of ideas, information and technology has resulted in best in class service to his clients. Bill is a member of the Piedmont Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
Glenda Boyd Young
Glenda is a licensed life and health advisor. A National Business College graduate, she began her insurance career at D & S Agency in 1989. Glenda brings 20+ years of experience and a friendly outlook to her clients. She provides group and individual health, dental, disability, life, and Medicare supplement sales and service. She is also a member of the Roanoke Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
Ashley Brown Austin
Ashley is a licensed life and health advisor who teamed up with D & S Agency in July of 2002. She received a degree from Bridgewater College in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Computer Information Systems. Ashley serves as one of our Account Representatives and was instrumental in designing and implementing our wellness product. She is currently and has been a board member of Executive International Women (EWI) since 2006 and is also a member of the Roanoke Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
Cindy Vernon
Cindy is a licensed life and health advisor who joined D & S Agency in 2007 after 20+ years in the Information Technology profession. She serves as one of our Account Representatives and assists with wellness plan design for our clients. She is also a member of the Roanoke Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
Darlene B. Mowles
Darlene joined D & S in November 2006. She is the gateway to our agency as she is our friendly and outgoing receptionist. She provides continuing support for all functions within the firm.
Karen Light
Karen is a licensed life and health advisor who also serves as our office manager. She has worked in the insurance industry since 2001 in various capacities. Her extensive background with group products enhances her skills as account service support. Prior to obtaining her insurance license, Karen worked for a durable medical equipment supplier as office manager. She is a member of the Piedmont Chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters.
